Description: "ikolai Astrup was a Norwegian visual artist who was born in 1880. Nikolai Astrup has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at The National Gallery, Oslo and at the Dulwich Picture Gallery. Many works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'soleier og regnbue (buttercups and rainbow)' sold at Sotheby's London '19th Century European Paintings, Including the Scandinavian Sale' in 2001 for $570,828. There have been many articles about Nikolai Astrup, including 'Nikolai Astrup - Norway’s other great painter' written by Claudia Massie for Spectator in 2016. The artist died in 1928."
