Tropical Storm Sara caused widespread flooding and infrastructure damage on Saturday (November 16), leaving communities isolated in northern Honduras.
Heavy rains led to the collapse of a vital bridge over a swollen river in the coastal town of La Ceiba, which cut off access to an entire community.
In Honduras, the storm left one person dead and 55,709 affected, as well as 146 communities cut off, five bridges destroyed and 20 roads damaged, according to authorities.
The relentless rains began overnight Friday (November 15), swelling rivers, flooding homes, and evacuating hundreds of people due to the risk of destruction.
