While the K40 X Rail is exposed for view, the inner works are not. The operation of the X carriage is on full display its drive belt and tension system are not. I had a need to pull the right end of the X rail apart and what I found should be of interest to all owners as sooner or later we are going to have to mess with the X drive belt.
