The Meerut South RRTS station commenced passenger operations linking Meerut more closely to Delhi. This new addition means 42 km of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is now functional, including nine stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South.
The full 82-km long corridor from Delhi to Meerut is expected to be operational by June 2025. By the end of this year, when it reaches the center of Meerut city, commuters will be able to travel from Meerut to Sahibabad in Ghaziabad in just 45 minutes, a substantial reduction from the current bus travel time of over two hours.
