The American SIG 556 is absolutely not the Swiss SG 551, despite the SIG 556 sharing design roots from the Swiss rifles. The core of the design is the same, but the American SIG 556 has design elements that attempted to further integrate the Swiss rifle into U.S. adaption.
Through it's years in the commercial market, the SIG 556 has been loved and hated for various reasons, but how well does this copied rifle perform on the distance course? We find out.
