Former Brexit Party MEP Alex Phillips says the "the left are self-cannibalising" over the sacking of Labour MP Rebecca Long-Bailey.
"Keir Starmer is just sending out a very strong message that he will not be tolerant of anti-Semitism... but I do think that sacking for somebody for retweeting an article is almost trial without jury and you've got to ask when does it end?"
"It's almost delightful to see the left take their own scalp because they are the ones who are really driving historical revisionism and clamping down on free speech".
Phillips continues: "The political class is getting further and further out of step with the general public. When you look at the reaction to protests like Black Lives Matter and the acquiescence to some of their demands to defund the police, I think the general public think that's fairly horrifying".
Former Labour Party adviser Richard Power Sayeed disagrees with Phillips: "It's not really a civil war. I think what you're seeing is a medium-sized skirmish".
