Great progress has been made to reduce world hunger in the past 20 years.
Nevertheless, in Latin America and the Caribbean, challenges persist.
48 million people suffer from hunger,
and more than 205 million people are food insecure.
Food and animal health surveillance infrastructure improvements are also key challenges for the region.
Multi-sectoral public policies are needed to tackle malnutrition.
With new funding worth USD 112 million
across 77 projects in 2019,
FAO and its partners are working to…
1
Support food security across all sectors to ensure the right to food for all
2
Promote productive development and the social wellbeing of farmers
3
Stimulate the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries and forests
4
Eradicate rural poverty and revitalize rural territories
Thank you partners for helping us make a difference.
Only together can we achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
