In this video, which is a part of our series, Film Noir Movie Reviews, we review "Kiss Me Deadly", which was released in 1956 and starred Ralph Meeker and Cloris Leachman.
It's a bizarre and somewhat confusing Noir, which also has elements of Sci-Fi and Apocalyptic themes.
The film was an apology for the cold War and the atomic bomb. The best way to watch this film is to let go of how the detective, Mike Hammer, goes about finding out what he's after and just letting the emotion hit you.
Robert Aldrich's use of editing, visuals and lighting are remarkable in this film and was extremely inventive at this time.
