Skin Tags (Acrochordons) | Causes, Risk Factors, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment
Skin Tags (also known as Acrochordons) are benign skin growths (neoplasias) that are very common in the general population. There are a variety of risk factors for getting them, including older age and some medical conditions like obesity and diabetes. In this lesson, we discuss other risk factors, some of the proposed pathophysiology behind why they occur, some associated signs and symptoms, how they are diagnosed and how they are treated by clinicians.
