A roundtable discussion, moderated by MarkAlain Déry, DO, MPH, FACOI, focused on disparities in the prevention, diagnosis, and care of HIV. Dr. Déry was joined by Hamadullah Shaik, MD, an assistant professor in infectious diseases at Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and associate chair for Infection Prevention at Robert Wood Johnson; and Sneha Jacob, MD, an associate professor of medicine at Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and an HIV specialist with a background in internal medicine.
As a bonus question, Dr. Déry asks the panelists to share their perspectives on how climate change will impact patients with infectious diseases such as HIV. The panel explored how climate change could impact patient migration, community immunity, and access to care or exacerbate other health conditions.
