Target Audience
This activity is targeted toward physicians, resident/fellows, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurses, students and
other health clinicians in the practice of pediatrics, neurology, pediatric rheumatology, physical medicine and
rehabilitation, and family practice.
Statement of Need
Neurological disorders in children can present with varied symptoms and severities. Outcomes in many of these
disorders often correlate with the speed of recognition, diagnosis and institution of the correct treatment. Many of
these diseases are rare and practitioners may not consider them in the differential diagnosis.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify common sleep problems.
2. Discuss sleep in neurodevelopmental disabilities to include Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Prader Willi
Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
3. Discuss treatment options.
