Hello my historical fashion friends!
In this video I will be chatting with you as I put a tablet woven trim on my viking hat based off the pattern from Medieval Garments Reconstructed, Museum No. D10610. The Tablet Woven trim is a variation on work done by Shelagh Lewins on recreating the pattern for a band from the Oseberg ship burial, link below.
Let me know if you have done any patterns from this book. I will be doing more tablet weaving next week with a little tutorial on warping the loom and weaving a new pattern.
I am also going to be making a hood from the same book, trying out some different examples of edge finishing stitches.
By the way, most of the background music I use is composed by my friend Zach, and his bandcamp page is linked below if you like his music and want to show him some love!
