Over in Greece, police have clashed briefly with extreme left protesters in Thessaloniki, while Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras unveiled his vision for the future of the country during the opening ceremony of the 83rd International Trade Fair.
Meanwhile, two other demonstrations, both staged by almost 13 thousand participants from trade unions, ended without incident on Saturday night.
Greeks threw sticks and stones at police who responded with teargas and stun grenades, during a protest over the country's deal with neighbouring Macedonia to end a decades-old dispute over its name.
Furious protesters said the name agreement did not represent them and was a betrayal towards Greeks.
Last month, the country ended its third consecutive international bailout and now must return to markets that have been rattled by financial concerns in nearby Italy.
