IOM Director General Amy Pope held a three-day visit to Mexico, a country that in recent years has welcomed more than 800,000 migrants and refugees from countries such as Cuba, Haiti, and Venezuela.
She explains IOM's effort to amplify our work with the private sector got a major boost during this trip with the launch of a strategic partnership with Tent Partnership for Refugees, a group that will help accelerate the inclusion of migrants and other forcibly displaced people into the workforce.
While DG Pope was in Mexico City, Tent launched a first-of-its-kind national coalition – Tent México – through which 50 companies committed to reduce the barriers that migrants face in entering the job market.
