WoW Incursions in 8.1! The 8.1 Incursion feature will look familiar to players who experienced the Legion Invasions last expansion, but they're as good as ever for leveling alts. Coming with the upcoming Patch 8.1 (which has a confirmed release date rollout starting December 11), Incursions are a faction-themed take on Invasions. 8.1 WoW Incursions differ from Invasions in two key ways- the final sequence is no longer an instanced, three man scenario and is now just a multi-step quest that allow you to complete the 8.1 Incursion entirely solo. Secondly, Faction Incursions in Battle for Azeroth will not completely replace the standard World Quests for the zone like Legion Invasions did. Instead, they slot into their area and leave most of the zone untouched.

8.1 Incursions are mostly a boon to alt leveling in 8.1. They scale down to 110, can be done regardless of zone progress (as long as you're able to access the zone) and the Incursion World Quests reward significant experience amounts. Finishing a WoW Incursion in 8.1 on a character 110-119 will buff the player with Taste for Victory, a 1 hour 10% buff to experience in Kul Tiras and Zandalar. The Taste of Victory Incursions Exp buff is automatically applied when you turn in the final Incursion quest, lasts for one hour and persists through death. My plan is to do an Incursion on an alt in 8.1, then log out and wait for the next one. There are fewer World Quests available in an Incursion in 8.1 relative to Legion invasions, so they'll be faster to complete. All Incursions that I tested on the 8.1 PTR had five World Quests available, (completing four is required to trigger the finale quest) and two of those five were to kill an elite boss mob. Those Incursion World Quest rares can be done in a raid group using the Group Finder.
