That moment changed the telecom landscape. Now, together with Airtel, Jio is scripting a 5G-ready future for India's enterprise and mobile users. Jio's telecom network now sits atop a pile of data that lenders are eager to get their hands on. On top of it, Reliance's recent buyout of Just Dial positions Jio in the league of superapps. On top of it, the JioNext smartphone, all set for a debut on Sept 10th, is being touted as the world's cheapest model. Will it be a competition killer, or will it cater to the lowest end of the spectrum? We'll find out soon.
