Synopsis: Vishwanath is a youth driven by an obsession to participate in the freedom struggle of India. He abandons his home & his beloved to jaoin a band of revolutionaries. During a dangerous mission their leader is killed and Vishwanath is given the dreadful responsibility of informing this to the leader's would be wife, Yashoda.
Taking cover from the British soldiers, he reaches a mansion which they use as their hideout. Here he appears in the guise of a school teacher - Nilkanth Master.
Back home, his parents are tortured and brother is killed. To make matters worse, he is also to see the unexpected fate of his beloved right where he is staying and he still has his mission on hand - to help Yashoda escape. While he tackles all the perils in their path, he also has to restrain his growing fondness for Yashoda. He has to make sure that his vision of a free India does not diminish at any cost.
The life story of Nilkanth Master shows that a man who has found a larger motive in life cannot be distracted by love, family or the comforts of a normal life.
