Punjabi Wadi Chawal - a one-pot wonder perfect for those cozy winters. Warmth, comfort, and a burst of flavours all in one bowl!
Ingredients required:
Rice - ½ cup
Punjabi wadi - 2
Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
Onion, peeled and grated - 1
Garlic cloves - 6-8
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Green chilli - 1
Water - 2 cups
How to make Punjabi Wadi Chawal:
1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes.
2. Break wadi into smaller pieces.
3. Heat oil. Add wadi pieces.Cook until aromatic.
4. Add onion paste.Cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Crush the garlic cloves and add. Cook for a minute.
6. Add the spices and cook for a minute.
7. Add rice and wadi.Add water.Pressure cook for 10-12 minutes.
8. Let the pressure release.
9. Ready to serve.
