We enjoy learning how to create our own electronic projects and how each component works to make those project operate. Showing you how to create a DIY automated sound device for beginners seemed like a great pace to start. This video show you how to create your own simple, basic DIY motion activated device using a relay module and a motion sensor. It is perfect for beginners or someone who is interested in learning how a relay module works and would like to see an easy motion sensor project from start to finish. The HC-SR501 motion sensor uses infrared technology. It is ideal for detecting movement for energy saving and security, remote camera operation, and outdoor security lighting and alarms. The relay module works will with this PIR motion sensor for device switching in response to detecting occupant movement. This video shows you how to create a proper relay module connection. They can be used remotely, however, this project uses a relay that is activated by use of the PIR motion detector. DIY motion sensor projects are also great for seasonal displays.
There are several ways to power this project but we chose to use the most basic. You can connect this project to an Arduino board and that may show up in a later video. This video will be the foundation for future relay module project videos.
