#PixarRenderman #Renderman25
In this video, I am showing you how you can render using Non Commercial version of Renderman 25 using Blender inside a single Mac M2.
You need to download Blender Intel version, which will run under Rosetta in macOS, and so you can then install the Renderman Addon which allows you to render using Pixar Renderman.
Pixar Renderman is a really professional and powerful tool that comes with its own complexity. Blender Cycles is also interesting in itself, We also have Eevee NEXT render engine, which could be taken into consideration. But Renderman has certain "Renderman Look" almost like film quality.
1. Have rough idea what you want to create. Sketch it if you need.
2. Gather assets, place them in 3D space.
3. Setup lights.
4. Setup your materials using Renderman presets.
5. Use IPR interactive preview while assigning materials.
6. Final render.
I also mentioned Dylan Sisson, Pixar and artist, who gave this lecture and tips on tackling "Renderman Artist Challenge". The approach and whole process, probably 3 hours of artist session, but I think it could be a future 3D therapy session:
- think of visual, prompt it if you will
- think of character, sketch it out
- blocking out compositions
- use AI if you like to generate some more ideas
- brainstorming
- sculpt it in VR or Blender or Nomad on iPad etc
- paint it in Substance Painter or Procreate
- bring in assets, assign materials
- camera, light, render
The result could be a single piece render, which could also become Gaussian Splat Art, etc. but your sweat and tears will worth it.
