This video demonstrates you a typical Tour Planning Process from an End-User Perspective. You can see the Orders to be planned in the lower left corner and the available Vehicles in the right table. The first step shows how a User can manually create a Tour with Drag & Drop. LEO automatically calculates the optimal route by cost and calculates also the vehicle utilization with its inbuilt Load Optimizer. You can see how easy it is to change the Tour manually, e.g. by swapping the Stop Sequence. LEO automatically recalculates the Tour according to the changes and shows the violation of a planning constraint, in this case the change of the Stop Sequence created a problem with the second Stop. The customer at Stop 2 has a limited time window for receiving the goods and with this Sequence the Truck will arrive too late.
The next sequence shows how to use the Vehicle Routing and Scheduling Optimizer to create automatically a Tour Plan for ALL Orders and ALL Vehicles available. The target of the Optimizer is too create only feasible Tours according to the constraints like Goods Receiving Hours, allowed Vehicle Types at Delivery Location, necessary Unloading Equipments etc. and to minimize the overall planning cost, which are basically fixed and variable vehicle cost factors. The User selects all Orders and all Vehicles and then selects 'Complete Solution'. LEO returns a list of new, cost-optimized Tours and has also already calculated Packing Proposals for the Trucks and even for the Pallets in the Truck. LEO can create single product pallets, layer-oriented pallets, case pick pallets etc. It is also possible to create first cartons, then palletize and then load the pallet in the truck. LEO uses professional digital street map material to calculate accurate routes on street level. You can display the created Tours in a Map view 'as-the-crow-flies' or very detailed on street level. You can also change the Tours directly in the Map. You can see in the movie how the User selects additional, not planned Orders and adds them to the Plan. These unplanned Orders can then be made visible in the Map. The User has multiple options to select the Orders in the Map, like freehand selection, and can then easily add them to an already existing Tour.
