Nabanna Protest: Howrah Bridge Stands Empty Amid BJP's Statewide Bandh In Bengal
Bharatiya Janata Party calls for 12-hour general strike, Bangla Bandh, in West Bengal. The bandh is scheduled from 6 am to 6 pm today. Howrah Bridge, a key Nabanna March protest site, now looks deserted with few vehicles. The strike is in response to police action against demonstrators who marched to the state secretariat, Nabanna, on August 27. Notably, the police used batons and tear gas against the protesters, who were demanding CM Mamata's resignation. The rally was organized by Prabir Das, Subhankar Halder, and Sayan Lahiri under the banner of ‘Paschimbanga Chhatro Samaj.'
