Let's Play FM18 with some NEW Football Manager 2018 everyone! We began our FM18 Journeyman save for Football Manager 2018 at the club closest to my front door in Non-League: Blyth Spartans in the Vanarama National League North before getting sacked 6 months later!
We then continued the journey with a club in the same league - Curzon Ashton! We pulled off one of the greatest escapes from relegation of all time before steadying the ship in our second season and guiding them to 16th place after 34 games.
Then we get approached by Boston United! Steering Boston to stability in our first season we then pushed for the title in season 3 and it went to the wire as we went up as champions!
After only a handful of games in the Vanarama National League, we got approached by Burton Albion in League 1 with our Boston side in the playoff positions! We then managed to relegate Burton and got off to a slow start in League 2.
Cometh the Fleetwood, cometh the job offer - double the wages and back in League 1! We take this opportunity and lead them to the League 1 title and Championship football. After the rise of Paul Glatzel and the signings of some familiar faces, we start the Championship season well and look like Play-Off challengers.
Then the Premier League beckons as Ipswich Town appoint us in 20th place after 20 games with 7 points... what have I got myself in to? Well a disastrous spell with Ipswich led to our sacking just under a year into the job!
And then... just like Paul Lambert we get a chance of redemption with Stoker, who themselves are locked into a relegation battle! Can we retain their Premier League status and solidify them back in the mid-table of the Premier League?
After 3 and a half brilliant years at Stoke City where we led them to two 7th places in the Premier League, an FA Cup Semi-Final and a Europa League Quarter Final, and even leading Paul Glatzel to breaking the Premier League goalscoring record with 37 goals in 35 games, it was time to move our journey into Europe for its next phase!
After almost 9 months out of a job after leaving Stoke City, Ajax came with an offer I couldn't refuse - a chance to win our first domestic top division and qualify for the coveted Champions League!
In our 2 years at Ajax we reunited with the man, the myth, the legend Paul Glatzel and won two Eredivisie titles and got to the quarter finals of the Champions League! We then decided to leave for Villarreal in La Liga!
After 12 days at Villareal and a raft of broken promises, we resigned and began the job hunt again!
We then got the opportunity to manager FC Porto in the Premiera Liga! Another huge opportunity to win silverware? Well... not quite! Despite another reunion with Glatzel, we could only finish 3rd in the league and lose early in the cups, so we left after one disappointing season!
After 13 years as a manager and rising up all the way from the Vanarama National North, we were offered the dream job for any Englishman - the England manager's job!
We then got offered the chance to also manage Southampton in the Premier League and after keeping them up we took them into the next season.
After a season with Southampton and heartbreak at the Euro's, Everton approached us tasked with bringing them back in to European contention!
This is a huge opportunity - how will we do in our FM18 Everton? Help me to decide which jobs to apply for and which job offers to accept as we embark on our worldwide adventure on FM18.
Where will our FM18 Road (and Sea and Air) Trip lead us?
