In western society, Africa is often seen through a narrow lens, with many stereotypes and misconceptions about the continent stemming from the colonial era being perpetuated through our media, intertwining with our views of Africa in everyday life. It is time that we address our prejudices against Africa and create a paradigm shift in the way we view it. Francesca is a student at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, in London. She studies Geography, Theology and Philosophy, and Psychology. She plans to go on to university to study Geography.
