STORYLINE
The Danish Queen Margrethe II started a three-day official visit to South Korea on Monday.
It began at the Blue House, office of President Roh Moo-hyun in the capital Seoul, where she inspected a guard of honour and waved to crowds of children in a sea of Korean and Danish flags.
The Queen has a busy itinerary, which includes a tour of Samsung Electronics' Suwon Complex, a shipyard in Ulsan, and the traditional shopping streets of Insadong in Seoul.
A Denmark-South Korean business forum will be held during her trip.
Margrethe is accompanied by the Danish Prince Consort, Prince Henrik, and they plan to extend the official visit by spending a few days at the ancient Korean capital of Gyeongju, in the Southeast of the country, according to the Danish embassy in Seoul.
