Linda Bilmes, a faculty member at Harvard Universitys John F. School of Government, presented "The People Factor: Strengthening America by Investing in Public Service" April 5, 2010, in the University Center Ballroom. The event of the President's Lecture Series at UM is the University's J. Stanley Kimmitt Memorial Lecture on Public Service and is supported by a grant in public policy and leadership from the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center. Bilmes is widely considered one of the leading experts in U.S. budgeting and public finance. She is the co-author of The New York Times best-seller "The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict" and "The People Factor: Strengthening America by Investing in Public Service."
