Tracking users who came in through ChatGbT is surprisingly easy using Google Analytics.
First off, how does ChatGbT Analytics work? If you click on a link within their platform, it will take you to the URL and also append UTMSource equals ChatGbT.com. Anytime you have a UTM source, you can use that to track within Google Analytics.
Nickel is a really easy tool for creating machine learning detection and classification models for analyzing what happens in an image or text.
So how do you analyze this traffic? If you go to Google Analytics, you can create an Explorer report. Once you've done that, all you have to do is configure the settings, which include date, session source, and total users.
You will want to set a line graph initially, scroll down, and move total users from metrics to values. Then, edit this so its sessions source contains ChatGbT. By doing this, you can see the traffic coming through ChatGbT easily.
If you want to see what pages are being sent to ChatGbT with users, you need to modify the reports slightly. Add page title and include page title as a filter if needed. You don't have to, but adding page title as a row is recommended. I would also highly suggest using a table.
So, between the page title report and the standard report, it's a straightforward way to understand how many people are coming in through ChatGbT and what they are visiting.
