► The Prime Minister says it's a problem that's bedevilled our country for too long, and caused too much human suffering. Boris Johnson labelled people smugglers who traffic asylum seekers into the UK as "vile".
And he's presented his plan to tackle them - any single men who arrive via routes the government deems illegal will be sent to Rwanda, to be processed, or to settle. Mr Johnson called it a "innovative approach". But, charities are extremely concerned about sending people to a country they say has a "dismal human rights record". And it's been called "dangerous, cruel, and inhumane" by others.
