Mandargiri Hills is around 70 to 80 kms from Bangalore. Mydala Lake is at the foothills of Mandargiri. There is also a Guru Mandri famously known as Peacock Temple. It is situated in Tumkur district of Karnataka.
Mandargiri hills is also known as Basadi betta by the locals and is a place of religious significance for Jains. You will have to climb roughly 450 steps to reach the hilltop and it offers 360 degree views of the surrounding hillocks and Panditanahalli village. You can see mesmerizing Mydala lake from backside of the temples. There are four ancient Jain temples on the top dating back to 12th and 14th centuries.
You can bring some food and have nice picnic on the shores of Myala lake.
There is a 81 ft tall Peacock temple, which holds a Unique World Record for its structure, and huge statue of 8th Thirthankara of Jainsm, Chandranath Prabhu.
It is a beautiful place near Bangalore you can enjoy the beautiful views as well as spend some relaxing time by the lake and have a fun and joyful time with your friends and family.
