A freediving samba or Loss of Motor Control (LMC) is near black out experience. Always dive with a trained freedive buddy who can perform a proper rescue protocol. There are different methods to rescue someone from an LMC/samba and blackout, which come in useful depending on the severity, conditions, etc.
This is a video I did not want to post because it is embarassing, but it should be taken as a warning to new and intermediate freedivers what can happen in the water, and to never freedive alone.
This is why you must not hold your breath without a buddy who is trained in freedive rescue procedures.
Timecodes
0:00 Static Apnea start
0:12 Mistake 1 - thinking dry breath hold translates directly to the pool
0:33 Mistake 2 - very cold pool for static, but tried to do warm ups anyways in my thin wetsuit
0:50 Mistake 3 - Focused on the number, not the breath hold feelings
1:18 Mistake 4 - Overriding the warning signs of having a bad dive and needing to end
1:49 Mistake 5 - Letting air out, however I still keep pushing
2:03 Loss of Motor Control / LMC / Samba and static apnea rescue procedures
