WORLD CAR FREE DAY - September 22
Car Free Day aims to take the heat off the planet for just one day by encouraging people to be less dependent on their cars and try alternatives.
Today, with over 1,35 billion motor vehicles on the roads around the globe, it sometimes seems as if we cannot escape the pollution, noise and danger that they produce. If that staggering rate of growth continues, the total doubling every 20 years, then we can expect to see some 2.7 billion vehicles on the planet in 2039. What will this mean for our planet, our health and our environment?
