Another knock for motorists as the price of petrol increases at mindnight. It goes up by 37-cents a litre.
Although the price for diesel is dropping by between 30 and 36 cents. The wholesale price of a litre of illuminating paraffin will cost 19c less.
The Mineral Resources and Energy Department says the increase is due to a surge in the oil price because of growing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and OPEC production cuts.
Diesel prices are falling due to seasonal changes and reduced demand for the fuel in the Northern Hemispheres as summer approaches.
