48 hours before his meeting with Pakistani counterpart, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh set the tone and agenda for talks with Nawaz Sharif. In a tough message ahead of his meeting Prime Minister said that the terrorist machinery that draws its sustenance from Pakistan should be shut down.
He said that there will be no compromise on cross-border terror. Addressing the 68th Session of United Nations General Assembly, he made it clear that there can never be a compromise with the unity and territorial integrity of India of which Kashmir forms an integral part.
However he said that India is fully committed to resolve issues with pakistan through bilateral dialogue on the basis of the Shimla agreement.
