Watercolour sketching can be challenging - the painting starts off so loose, and then we try and get it back together and it ends up overworked.

The solution?

Well, just trust your processes, enjoy the experience and don't try too hard. That way you maximise your chances of a lovely outcome AND having fun and learning something along the way.

In this video I am using some 'absolute brown' ink - this ink is water soluble, meaning we can add water to create some lovely effects. Watch to the end and you'll see exactly what I mean :)

If you don't have brown ink (and why would you?!?) then don't worry, just use normal black or even blue ink!
