The #Durham City Council is considering redistricting its three wards, and you’re invited to offer your input by October 17. We share how you can do that as well as why the changes are being considered on #BullCityToday.

Transcript: The City Council is considering options for redistricting its three wards, and you’re invited to offer your input. The Ward system affects the makeup of the City Council because there are three members representing specific wards, three at-large seats, and the Mayor. Council members elected to represent a specific ward must live in that ward so that different areas of the city are represented. The City Council will adopt one of the proposed redistricting options at its meeting on October 17. You can offer your input up until that date on those options through an online feedback form. As you’re reviewing the proposed changes, it is important to note that candidates are voted on by all city voters and wards do not affect where a resident votes or which candidates a resident can vote for.
