Back on May 17th, Bellatrix came to Reesie's Rescue Ranch as an owner surrender from a breeder whose house had burned down. This precious girl came to rescuers severely emaciated with swollen and irritated paws, and painful to the touch from standing in her own urine and feces from being kept in a crate. Well, fast forward a little and with some good ole' TLC, Bella made an incredible transformation…until she abruptly began falling over with difficulty breathing…
Bella was just about to make a full recovery and rescuers were getting her ready for her vaccinations and spay surgery until her health took a turn for the worse. Bella's foster noted that this has been occurring frequently, so she was urgently brought into the vet's office to have bloodwork and X-rays done. Bella's bloodwork came back great and she is generally a healthy girl. But, the vet was able to notice upper airway abnormalities associated with brachycephalic syndrome within the area of her soft palate and arytenoids. Bella's trachea appeared normal, but due to the Brachycephalic syndrome, she is going to need to see a specialist for brachycephalic surgery.
After Bella's consultation with the surgeon at LeadER vet on July 15th, it was recommended that she sees a cardiologist to examine her heart before moving forward with the surgery to correct her breathing. She was brought in and thankfully, she passed the examination! She has a healthy heart and has been cleared for surgery! Now, rescuers desperately need to raise the funds for this hefty surgery.
Between Bella's hefty cardiologist appointment and her brachiocephalic surgery, well rescuers can use every ounce of support they can get. The estimate for her surgery is over $5,000…and that's the very low end! But, Bella is worth every penny and she deserves this second chance at life. So, please help rescuers give her just that! No amount is too small and every dollar adds up. Thank you for your generous support!
