CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Cincinnati police responded Wednesday afternoon, January 25, around 3:15 p.m. to reports of "shots fired" near Government Square.
The shooting happened at Fifth and Walnut. The victim, a 42-year-old black male, was found near the bus stop. He suffered several gunshot wounds to the neck, chest, and body and was taken to University Hospital Medical Center. The victim underwent surgery and was in critical condition Wednesday night.
A female suspect was taken into custody at Eighth and Walnut within minutes. She was identified as Ceira King and was in possession of a Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun. Police said the shooting was targeted and the public was not in danger.
King was charged with one count of attempted murder.
In a complaint released by the Hamilton County Municipal Court, King admitted to officials she was trying to kill the man because he molested her at a young age.
