A great 2 hour stay here at the always good station of Birmingham Moor Street on the CML where we see plenty of services from Chiltern Railways and West Midlands Railway. From the area of the platform I was standing at, we could also see the West Coast Mainline going in and out of Birmingham New Street and it's because of this that we were also able to see Avanti West Coast, Cross Country and London Northwestern Railway with an RHTT and one of West Midlands Railway's new class 730s making an appearance.
I don't know what to say. What a day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here today. Birmingham Moor Street is always a brilliant station to come to. It's such an old-fashioned station. When you walk up to the station you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a museum or court if there wasn't a sign outside saying "Birmingham Moor Street Train Station". The canopies and ticket office, the small coffee shops; it's almost like a station you would find on a heritage line.
I do strongly recommend Birmingham Moor Street to any trainspotters who haven't had the pleasure of coming here before. The only downside to the station is that a pigsty with a blue striped around the outside is visible from the station. The people that go there are weird and celebrate whenever a snake from Solihull gets hit in the head by one of them.
My next station should be Tamworth on the WCML and XCR where we should see plenty of services from Avanti West Coast, Cross Country, London Northwestern Railway and hopefully some Freight as well. My only known opportunity between now and Christmas to get to Tamworth is tomorrow (Friday 29th October) but if the weather is what it is as I type this, then you'll have a pretty long wait before my next video. Keep an eye on my Twitter for any updates.
