Stadimeters were key to naval warfare during both World Wars. They provided sailors on ships and in submarines a hand-held technology which quickly and accurately provided a 'distance to the target'. Knowing the distance provided the target's speed and range for the gunnery.
Schick Stadimeters were manufactured in Stamford, Connecticut, by the razor company already known worldwide for the Schick Injector and the world's first electric razor. The Schick workers' commitment to the WWII war effort was representative of how many American workers answered the call of their country.
