This approach aligns with the principles of zero-trust architecture, which assumes that no entity, inside or outside the organization, can be inherently trusted. Heiman stresses that transitioning to these advanced authentication methods should be a priority for organizations seeking to enhance their security posture. However, he acknowledges the challenges, especially concerning legacy systems and human behaviors, emphasizing the importance of a phased and managed risk approach.
