Over 100 foreign nationals have been arrested in Bloemfontein, in the Free State. They do not have the proper documents to be in the country.
The arrests were made during a joint operation led by the Department of Home Affairs Immigration Services, the South African Police Service, the Mangaung Metro Municipality and the provincial Community Safety, Roads and Transport Department.
Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza explained during the operation that there has been a worrying concern about illegal immigration in the area and they were there to combat it.
