Transporting gas through pipelines can cost over a million dollars, making it more of a pipe-dream for all but the very biggest gas producers. That's why GE is working on virtual pipelines, capturing gas close to the source, liquefying it and storing it in boxes to make transporting energy to industries and communities easier.
