In Gandhinagar on Monday, BJP leader Bhupendra Patel took the oath necessary to serve as Gujarat's chief minister for a second consecutive term. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries were there. At a ceremony conducted at the Helipad Ground next to the new Secretariat, Governor Acharya Devvrat gave Patel the oath to serve as the 18th chief minister. Leading members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the chief ministers of numerous other BJP-ruled states, are in attendance at the ceremony. By winning 156 of the 182 seats up for election in the Assembly this month, the saffron party made a landslide victory.
