The Equilibar EPR-3000 is an electronic pressure regulator designed to control high pressure compressed gasses with high accuracy and resolution up to 3000 psi (200 Bar). The design utilizes a proportional solenoid valve on the inlet port to allow compressed supply gas into the system to increase pressure. A second proportionally responding solenoid valve is used on the exhaust to vent any excess and reduce the controlled pressure. The true proportional opening capability of these two solenoids allows the EPR-3000 to control high pressure accurately and with great resolution. Both solenoids are closed when pressure is at the steady state so that valuable compressed gas is not wasted. An internal pressure sensor and control circuit allow the EPR-3000 to perform its own local high speed closed loop control of the pressure.
The EPR-3000 may be controlled by three different control methods. All three methods are shown in the video:
*The pressure may by controlled by inputting your desired value directly through the LCD front panel
*Pressure may be controlled through an analog control signal source (4-20mA standard and 0-5 VDC optional. 0-5 VDC shown in the video)
*RS-232 / RS-485 serial digital input. Flow Vision software is used in the video demonstration, which includes a graphical plot of the command and actual pressure achieved versus time.
The Equilibar EPR-3000 high pressure electronic regulator is generally in stock for quick delivery. Every EPR is individually hand tested for operation and accuracy before it is shipped. Typical applications include pilot operating an Equilibar precision back pressure regulator in catalysis reactor chemical research applications.
This video was shot on the Equilibar electronic regulator test bench at our Fletcher North Carolina headquarters. A GE Druck PACE 1000 high accuracy pressure monitor was used to measure the pressure versus the command input.
