We are on Khao San Road or Khaosan Road in Bangkok, Thailand. Khao San Road has been described as THE backpacker central in the whole world. This is the place where all backpackers come and apparently can live on a shoe string budget - many of the backpackers only stay on and around this street when visiting Bangkok... there is loads to see in Bangkok so don´t make that mistake. On a shoestring budget? looking for cheap Thai street food? Just take a walk down the street and choose from freshly pressed juices, ice cream, corn on the cob, grilled chickens, BBQ sausages and stir fried noodles such as Pad Thai..

We chose the Pad Thai and definitely did not regret it. It was freshly made and the portion was more than generous, we were not hungry afterwards. This video footage shows the skillful art of the lady stir frying this fantastic Thai dish for my wife and I. It was delicious and should most definitely be on any travelers "what street food to try list"!! If streetfoods not your thing try it in one of the local restaurants were you are eating. This Thai "National Dish" is not to be missed. I prefer my Pad Thai without the sweetener, and therefore ask them not to put Palm Sugar in the dish.

Some of the ingredients in Pad Thai include:
- soaked dried rice noodles which are stir-fried with eggs
- chopped firm tofu. Tofu is made by coagulating soy milk and pressing the resulting curds
- flavored with tamarind pulp and fish sauce
- bean sprouts and a meat such as chicken or prawns

Pad Thai is normally served with lime wedges and finely chopped peanuts. I like to pour fresh Thai chilli/soya sauce over the dish.

In 2011 in a poll conducted by CNN, readers voted Pad Thai number 5 as one of the world's 50 most delicious foods. Be it in a restaurant or at a real Thai street-food seller don´t miss out on tasting Pad Thai when you visit Bangkok or any other part of Thailand, you wont regret it. A plate costs around 50 Baht, that's under 2 US dollars.
