This video shows you how to check the emission test readiness of your car. This is called IM readiness. If you have recently cleared trouble codes, then you need to drive your car around for a while so that all of the sensors can reset. You have to do this before you take it in for an emissions test or you will fail the test. To check that I am readiness on your car to see if your car is ready to have, an emissions test, you will need to use the code reader. On the code reader, look for something on the settings, called check IM readiness, and go through all of the results and make sure they are either not applicable or OK. There is only one sensor that is not important in the test, and that is the evaporative Result. If it is in complete, you can still pass an emissions test. That’s how you check your I/M readiness on a car.
