This is a Kraft recipe. If you want to use up an entire package of jello powder and only make one colour/flavour follow the instructions here: [ Ссылка ]
For six colours:
6 large egg whites
1 cup + 2 tbsp white granulated sugar (242g)
1.5 tsp white vinegar (no idea what this does in the recipe) (7ml)
4.5 tsp jello powder of EACH colour (X6) (20g)
Gel or paste food colour (optional)
Beat egg whites until frothy and then add in white sugar and vinegar.
Continue to beat the egg white until soft peaks just start to form.
Divide evenly among 6 bowls.
For each bowl, add in 4.5 tsp of jello powder and a little bit of food colour if desired and beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. This may take 3-4 minutes, be patient.
Transfer to piping bag with star tip or zip lock bag with corner cut off.
Pipe mixture onto cookie sheet covered with parchment paper or silicone mat. I made cookies that were about 2 inches in diameter.
Bake at 250F for 25-30 minutes until exterior is dry and firm but the insides are still soft. The cookies will not/should not brown.
Allow to cool completely on cookie sheet and store in a covered container at room temperature.
Meringues have a tendency to get sticky in high humidity. These are best eaten same day or next day.
Only bake one sheet at a time in the center of the oven. I tried to bake two at a time and the cookie sheet that was on the bottom didn't bake properly, the cookies collapsed when I took them out of the oven.
Makes about a dozen of each colour.
