Despite being the least responsible for climate change, today’s young people are most at risk from its impacts, an unfair inheritance that threatens their futures. The fear and worry that the climate crisis evokes is as real as its global impact—from floods, to droughts, to pollution. Eco-anxiety is driven by a range of factors, but many children and young people feel a dissatisfaction with the response to climate change from government and business leaders.
Action must be taken by leaders to solve the climate crisis, to protect the futures and well-being of young people. This Concordia Live, held in partnership with UNICEF USA, will bring together youth advocates and other experts to discuss eco-anxiety and how to tap into eco-optimism through a powerful combination of advocacy, resilience-building, green skill-building, and youth voice, which can help turn despair into action and anxiety into momentum.
Concordia is the leading public-private sector convener, with the Annual Summit one of the most important global gatherings of C-suite executives, heads of state, government officials, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurs.
