So if you are setting up your dlink extender for the first time or second time and you are following the instructions given in the dlink extender manual then it will take you to dlinkap.local for setup. Now in case dlinkap.local isn't working then you are left stranded and you feel no where to go. So, need not to worry in this video we have provided you with simple diagnostic and resolution to the problem.
1. First and foremost you need to reset your dlink extender. We are doing this because you might have already tried setting up dlink wifi extender, so we want to make sure that we are starting it again from scratch.
2. Now once you have resetted your dlink ext, grab any of your cellphone, iphone or pad. You can even use windows or mac computer for this step. Now, go to the wifi list and in the wifi list you will see dlink ext network name and it will be a open network that means without any password. Sometimes password comes with the wifi card or it is written on the back of the extender.
3. Now once connected open a browser on the same device and in the URL or address bar type dlinkap.local or you can also try 192.168.0.50 which is the default ip address of the dlink wifi range extender.
4. Now it should ideally take you to dlink extender setup page. But if it still doesn't than connect an ethernet cable between your ext and your computer and then access dlinkap.local. Now make sure while you are doing this the power light on the ext should be stable and not red or amber.
