Well first road trip for the VW and as has been the case with this vehicle it wasn't without some issues. But what can I expect for a vehicle that's been sitting for over 10 years. :) For the most part it runs very well. The cooling fan for the engine stopped running which caused the engine to overheat while trying to find a place to park in Bon Accord. So I let the engine cool down and went into a little restaurant called "Chelsea's Pub". While I was in there I told the bartender/waitress what happened and another waitress came along and said that she has a gallon of coolant specifically formulated for VW's. She was off shift so she ran out to her vehicle and brought it in for me. Before I could reimburse her for the fluid she was gone. But I did leave some $ for her in her tip jar. So I went back out the car topped it up and made my way back to Edmonton. There will be a couple of short videos posted soon of the drive back to the city.
